Uneasiness lifted

So, as shown in my previous post Obama was victorious (thanks be to God) In this post I wrote about whether or not my unease would lift if Obama won.

Well.


Yes. It has. Mostly, I think it is this overwhelming sense of possibility...of optimism. People flooded into the streets of Seattle after his victory was announced. Honestly, things can only get better.

I want so much to tell people who are upset that McCain didn't win, "see...see... that's what we've felt since the election was stolen in 2000". But I think that would be mean spirited. It is mildly entertaining and more than mildly amusing and a little scary to listen to the 6th,7th,&8th graders I teach lament the "end of the world" because Barack Obama will be our president. The ridiculousness of it all is that they are just regurgitating their parents' claptrap.

And so.....view the countdown below, I'm takin' that day off so that I can be as happy as ever and not have to hide it and watch all the pomp and circumstance.
