Deacon posted this article and I responded. Will edit and add the response when/if Deacon posts it. I am SO frustrated.
EDITED TO ADD
Here's my post.....
It seems to me, that there's a lot of stone casting and pointing out of splinters going on.The church I love is breaking my heart. How dare these men threaten to take Jesus away from the faithful.
I voted for him. I voted for Barack Obama! I'm proud of that vote! I didn't vote for him because he's "pro-abortion". I voted for him because something in this nation HAS to change. I voted for him because--to the depths of my soul--I don't believe the republicans will do anything.I voted for him because we were better off 8 years ago. I voted for him because I had a gut feeling about a certain governor from Texas 8 years ago and God help me I was right. I've been crying since that Texas governor was elected and I'm tired of it. And I'll say it...I voted for him because he made me feel hopeFUL rather than hopeLESS. So don't you tell me that I'm "not Catholic enough".
If you're against abortion then get off your backside and organize comprehensive sex education with moral foundations. Don't tap dance around it. Tell the kids the truth.
Make a positive impact rather than scaring people away from Jesus. Teach people why abortion is wrong without attacking them. Get on Oprah, get on Ellen, get into the mainstream media without being hateful. Lobby against FOCA and publicize why. And above all do not tell me that I am pro-abortion because I didn't vote for the Republican.
Sorry for the rant Deacon but I'm in a bad place tonight and I'm scared to death that these reactionaries are going to chase away my sister for good.

Miss,
Thank you for bold words on Deacon's blogs. You expressed my sentiments exactly. God bless you.
Christopher
I want you to know that I am praying for you. I believe you are identifying your moral beliefs with what you feel and what you wish was so. Crying for 8 years? Relief for a pro-abortion politician who gives you hope? Our hope is in Jesus, the source and summit of our faith. Go on Oprah or Ellen? Did it ever occur to you that the popular culture is trying to drag us happily and comfortably to hell? You might want to read a book by CS Lewis, The Great Divorce or Perelandra. I'll pray for you, Anneg in NC
Chris: Thanks I needed that!
Anneg: Thanks for your prayers. Why can't we hijack (Lordy, now my blog will be flagged) popular culture for our own ends. Why not go on pop-culture shows and in an mature and adult way communicate our position?
