Republicans Are Mean

I have made myself watch the RNC because I feel it is important to be informed.

Over the last few days these people have gone out of their way to be snide, snarky and nasty. At the DNC, most if not all of the speakers paid tribute to JMcC's time in Vietnam.

I also honor him. I am in awe of his service.

All, ALL, of the speechifiers this week have tried their hardest to be as nasty as they possibly could.

They showed a 9/11 video that made me sick. Keith Olbermann responded this way:

I'm sorry, it's necessary to say this and I wanted to separate myself from the others on the air about this. If at this late date, any television network had of its own accord showed that much videotape, and that much graphic videotape of 9/11, and I speak as somebody who lost a few friends there, it, we, would be rightly eviscerated at all quarters, perhaps by the Republican Party itself, for exploiting the memories of the dead and perhaps even for trying to evoke that pain again. If you reacted to that videotape to the way I did, I apologize. It is a subject of great pain for many of us still and was probably not appropriate to be shown. We'll continue in a moment. (end K.O.)

It was not a tribute to victims. It was a "vote for republicans and be safe; vote for the democrats and die" video. Nothing more. It did not pay tribute. It was blatant fear-mongering.

Also interesting, there were people protesting inside the convention. That was pretty cool.

I don't know what to think. I have no concept of how people are seeing this, all I hear are opinions from people who are strong on either side.

I find it interesting that they are so ashamed of their party that the only place in the convention that says Republican is in very small print on the top of the State signs.

Yaknow....I liked McCain in 2000. He's not the same guy. He's not.

Edit.....not enough to vote for him. LOL
