As I think I've mentioned before, I'm a bit addicted to milblogs. I don't always understand what's being said (although I understand more because of my reading about Vietnam phase) but I feel a sort of ...I don't know responsibility to witness these lives. A lot of times I feel conflicted because (and I know I've said this before) I have not supported this war. I have to clarify because people are convinced that if you don't support the war, you don't support our troops. I couldn't admire a group of people more. I am in awe of people who serve their country in such an unsung way. I am angered and frustrated that our Combat Veterans get completely shafted when they come home. I've signed up with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, to do what I can to support Veterans. Hell even if I'm only comfortable writing to my legislator.
This video from NBC Nightly News is amazing and heart-wrenching. It was recorded during and right after the Earthquake in China last week. I was noticing this morning how heroic the rescuers are...they're scaling landslides and impassable roads to get to small villages and bring people out. That's all I have for tonight.
