Not that it is a huge thing but I have this problem. I tend to devour books. I gobble them up like they're Neopolitan Dynamite Ben&Jerry's. I can't seem to control myself. I have about four authors whose hardcovers I buy: Laurell K. Hamilton, Suzanne Brockmann, Diana Gabaldon, and Philippa Gregory.
Hamilton just came out with Blood Noir . It's the latest in the Anita Black Vampire Hunter series. There are a lot of complaints that it's turned into erotica without much of a story. I can understand where people would get that. Some people are completely repulsed by this. I, however, have come to love the characters in these books (as well as the people in the Merry Gentry series (same author)). I care about what happens to them. I'm physically stopping myself from reading the book at random intervals because I'm worried about finishing the book too fast (LOL I did the same thing with Harry Potter VII - I didn't want it to end). The problem is...no more Anita (or more to the point, no more of Anita's guys) until next year. I've started "re-reading" the series whenever a new one comes out. It's funny that I skip some parts (frickin' arguments with Richard I can only take once). It's interesting to me that I analyze the issues of good v. evil in these books from a faith standpoint.
So....more on my problem....I now have to wait until July for the new Brockmann, September for the new Gregory, and GOD knows when for Diana Gabaldon. Oh Sigh.......
