Okay the title doesn't make much sense but it amuses me. There's a lot going on in my brain. I've been having a disagreement with my uncle via a social messaging site because he's being a bit of a dick re: waterboarding.
It started with this: http://www.rockcookiebottom.com/post/97815385/109-for-this-song-i-took-language-directly-from
Ultimately used info from Countdown as the coup d'grace:
1898 American Soldiers court martialled for using “the water cure” during the Spanish American War.
1968 American Soldier was court martialled for supervising the water boarding of a captured North Vietnamese soldier.
1947 Japanese soldiers were prosecuted for war crimes by the US for water boarding U.S. prisoners during WWII

and
San Jacinto, Texas 1983—the sheriff and three deputies charged and convicted of water boarding prisoners to extract confessions (interestingly enough the sheriff was not pardoned by the Governor of Texas, George W. Bush).

I spend a lot of my time explaining to students that the ends don't justify the means. A moral wrong doesn't become right because it saves lives. It fries my butt that the republicans are trying to parse this crap. "Enhanced interrogation"?!?!?! Really??!?! Good Grief!
On another note... I've started to read Pride and Predjudice and Pride and Predjudice and Zombies. I'll let you know how that goes. Ta-ra
